The lend/lease destroyers were given names of towns that were common to both the USA and GB. There was no specific location meant - there are two towns in the UK and five in the USA that have the name CALDWELL, although the town in Renfrewshire, Scotland is mentioned; the ship used the arms of the Caldwell family for the ships badge.
