Many of the patrol reports of HMS Loyal have been retained by the National Archive in Kew, Ruskin Avenue, West London. If at all possible, I would urge you to visit the National Archive - you will learn so much and as long as you have the file reference in advance (and you have) it will be a rewarding (and moving) experience.

In the event that you cannot visit yourself, it is possible to order copies from the file/s in question. You can look up 'National Archive' in a search engine (restric the search to UK). I believe the 'home' page will provide you with a great deal of contact information. Predictably, there will be a copying fee.

You will need to provide ID and in return you will be able to obtain a readers ticket. You can order the file in advance of your visit to guarantee its availability
