Hello Angela
The boat was sunk 30th July/1st August 1940 by the Italian destroyer Vivaldi
Here are two useful steps you could take.
Firstly, obtain a library copy of Evans 'Beneath the Waves'. Although some of the information is a little dated, it will give you some understanding of what happened to Oswald. It is well documented and there were survivors. I believe three men died in the water. If you contact me privately, I can give you a basic outline of what is believed to have happened
Next step, once you have the basic outline, is to contact George Malcolmson at the RN Submarine Museum. There are survivor accounts Should you wish to make an in-depth examination of the records, I could point you in some useful directions.
