Having served my apprenticeship with "Northern Trawlers" at Grimsby Lincs. I have an interest in all the Northern boats.
To see a page on the history of the N.Spray go to....

There is mention of her sinking a u-boat but no ID of it.
Two of the Northern Boats were lost to U-boats...Rover torpedoed by U59 on 30/10/39
And Princess torpedoed by U587 on 08/03/42.
N. Isles ran aground off Durban South Africa in Jan 45.
