HMS Coventry

According to the information contained on your website, HMS Coventry was torpedoed by the Italian submarine Neghelli on 13th Dec 1940.

According to my father's discharge papers, my father was on HMS Pembroke until 13th Dec 1940 and joined HMS Coventry the following day (14th Dec 1940) until his transfer to HMS Lanka on 18th April 1942.

These dates appear to be in conflict, I would be gratefull if you would clarify which is the more accurate.

For your infomation my father's name was AB Joseph McGuigan and his service No was JX 211992.
