Hello Adam,
The attack you mentioned may be that on HM submarine SEAL which was about to make rendezvous with HM destroyer BOADICEA to escort her back to Portsmouth. She reported being attacked by a seaplane with three bombs. Time reported as 1035/7 and position approximately 52°00 N/02°05 E. Two other submarines were in the vicinity and also making rendezvous with BOADICEA: L.26 and CACHALOT. I do not know of a second destroyer. HMS SEAL escaped damage.
