You are certainly right concerning the number of patrols. Unfortunately, Spindler doesn't mention the previous patrols between Aug.14 and Feb.15, before the "Handelskrieg" when submarines were used only as a weapon against other military targets. Once again, the most valuable source would be the KTB's, what I haven't.
