I had calculated the 150 nm distance based on the fact that the sinking of Cameronia was on the east side of Malta & it would force the boat to make a detour, given the coordinates you provided above, my info may be incorrect. The second point against U 33 was that German subs usually patrolled inside geographically limited areas to avoid interfering with one another, but of course the presumption falls though if the Cameronia was sunk in a different position.
The source for UC 54 is Conway's all the world's fighting ships, 1906-1921, where it is stated this boat was responsible under the guise of being KuK U 94.
