I would say that the guns were pretty close so 5m would be
more accurate.

The aft gun was about the same distance from the conning tower as the forward gun and it must be a good 20mm from
the stern (that's a wild guess by the way).

Again, hard to say from the conning tower, but with the end of the debris field, visible from where the towing eye was. a more accurate position would be about 10m back from bow (or what remains of it).

What would be really helpful is any sort of plans.
There were 5 engineers on this dive and so realate well to plans more than pictures (although happy to have those as well).

The othet thing is that was there a skin or canopy built over the conning tower? Sort of a metal streamlining shroud? The tower seemed like three upright tubes and not the sleak streamlined shape in the grainy pictures I have.

Again any help appreciated.

PS: We are off on another area for the next few dives, but will return to this site in a few weeks. If I can get some plans we can actually do soem line laying and get accuarte measurements.
