Apparently the hull served as a jetty for many decades. Now it has been covered in concrete and incorporated into a quay wall !
Tebbanjohans left a full account of what transpired in Hashagen's 'U boat Westwards'.
There is significant evidence to suggest that Room 40 lured this UC boat into a minefield but Tebbanjohan's account points to a faulty chemical plug on the mines. Other UC boats, notably UC32 suffered from this deadly fault
