Thanks Dave,

I understand she was mined off Alexandria.

I was wondering how an AIF soldier in Alexandria got out to this ship to help rescue passengers?

He may have grabbed a local row boat, thats if the ship was close to Alexandria harbor when mined.

A mystery purhaps.
