Hello guys,

while reading the War Diary of S.M. UB 38 (Waßner) I found the following entry.

Western entrance of the English Channel, Oct. 1st 1916, 02:07 p.m., French fishing vessel "L.R. 2006" captured by gunfire, crew abandoned ship, unsuccessful attempt to sank the vessel by gunfire caused by heavy seas, only two hits were scored, one shell struck the deck and one shell struck the fish hold. Dived for attack on an approaching ship.

Per Lloyds War Losses on Oct. 1st 1916 the French fishing vessel "Le Pelerin" (31 grt) was sunk in the Channel.

Now my question.

Is it possible that "Le Pelerin" is "L.R. 2006" and Lloyds is in error with the sinking claim, that "Le Pelerin" was only damaged. Or was the vessel decommissioned after towing in?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you.
