Hi Ron,
Saw your post and was most interested because my Grandfather was the Donkeyman on Amsterdam when she went down. Sorry I can't give you much help on this. I seem to remember that it was the escorts that picked up the survivors and consisted of one small warship and an armed trawler. Presumably they would be based in the Forth perhaps Port Edgar. Sorry I can't be of more help. I would be very pleased to hear from you if you find the wreck or any further info on her. I have all the general information.
