Hello All, I have been recommended to ask this group for some assistance. I thank you in advance fory your assistance.
I am currently researching the sinking of the U.S.S. San Diego. (July 19, 1918 off of Fire Island, Long Island, New York.) I have read in several histories that the U-156 was the submarine that had mined the waters off of Long Island and had been responsible for the "hit" on the San Diego - which sent her to the bottom in under thirty minutes. Several of the histories however, refer to the U-156 as the Duetschland, however, I have found that boat listed as U-155.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction? As always, I appreciate the time and effort in regards to my request.
Thanks, Adam
