Two excellent books, if you can get hold of them are:-

CANARIS - Chief of Intelligence by Ian Colvin (copyright 1951, 1973) Published by George Mann, Maidstone (Kent) ISBN 0 7041 0023 1

CANARIS by Andre Brissaud. Translated by Ian Colvin 1973 & published by Weidenfeld and Nicolson, London. ISBN 0 297 76686 4

Both very good books about a German Naval Officer who I have the greatest respect and admiration for.
