Sorry, there was no U-Boat captain in WW1 with this name. The only closer match I can find in Ehrenrangliste is Ernst Friedrich Lüder born 27.9.1891, who was Marine-Ingenieur Aspiranten on board UC 3. He died when the boat was lost 26.5.1916. No other match.
If W.J. Luders served on U-Boats, he was not an officer anyway.
