Hello,
On 12 July 1917, the BE-steamer CLAIRE (ex-Marmion) was torpedoed o/v from Annaba (Algeria) to Marseille (Fr.), by the U – 38, Captain Max Valentiner.
From books or other sources (such as “Memories†written by Max Valentiner, etc.), have anybody more particular references and/or details (cargo, passengers, secret mission (?)) about this ship and her sinking ?
Thanks in advance!
Freddy.
