Hi Ken & Rita Berry,
I do have a picture of U 49 but unfortunately not yet of Richard Hartmann. Additionally to his person I can say that he was born in Dresden (Sachsen) and that he was also commander of U 2 before he took over the command of U 49.
Please send me you e-mail-address and I'll send you a scan of U 49. As for a pic of Richard Hartmann I will check the photo-albums in Cuxhaven/Altenbruch in April.
