Hi Erik

The submarine located in 1999 off Öland at 56º10'7"N, 16º39'8"E is indeed S-8.

In 1993 the Swedish minesweeper LANDSORT located a submarine wreck in a depth of 120 m east of Gotska Sandön at 58°21'N, 19°52'E. This was first thought to be LVITSA, but is now believed to be BARS.

In 2003 they found and identified AG-14 east of BARS: [www.uboat.net]

Just recently they located another Russian submarine of the Bars class 30 miles northeast of Gotska Sandön: [www.stockholmnews.com]
They think its GEPARD, but I think this is LVITSA because she went missing on a patrol against the Swedish ore convoys while GEPARD did not return from a patrol off Windau.

Best regards
