In looking through Latin American Wars Volume 2 the age of the Proffesional Soldier 1900-2001 Robert Scheina It has some info on Brazil in WWI.
It has the Brazilian Merchant ship Taquari "...which lost eight men in an attack but the ship did not sink."
Also the following Brazilian Merchant ships that were lost were interned German merchant ships requistioned when Brazil declared war on Germany:
Acari or Acary ex Ebenburg
Maceio ex Santa Anna
The Taquari in not in the database does anyone have any info on this ship. The other two ships were sunk by u-boats.
