Hi
I have heard of this tale years ago. If it helps I was in conversation with an elderly neighbour of mine recently who spent many holidays in the area and got to know the locals well. He assures me an old lady who lived in the village showed him pictures of a World War 2 U Boat in the bay and she said that crew members landed by dinghy and purchased provisions in the village shop as well as taking on board fresh water. Knowing the inhabitants of Cardiganshire as I do I am not surprised they took advantage of making a pound or two.
