Nice find. Spindler mentions the incident, but does not indentify the ship or even say if hits were claimed. (I have U 117's KTB and will have a look.)
ANSALDO I or ANSALDO III -- actually this is harder than it may appear. G. Ansaldo & Co., Sestri Ponente built five freighters in 1917 and 1918 with very similar dimension that were given the unimaginative names of ANSALDO I through ANSALDO V.
