And the highlight of U 94's day on August 14, 1918 wasn't an air attack but rather an unsuccessful torpedo attack on a steamer at about 52°45'N, 5°21'W. No mention of an air attack in fact at all.
So this may be a case of an air crew attacking an imaginary submarine.
