Are there any indications as to the identity of the attacking escorts? I believe that there were both US and British destroyers including Albacore and Sprightly assigned to the Irish Sea (I have a nice colourised aerial photograph of Albacore and a US Destroyer. Also do you know where and when exactly this encounter took place? And any other positions the U Boat was recorded in the period after Adela was sunk?
