<HTML>Having just read Schaffer's book, he makes mention of a counterattack by small armed boats launched from the convoy. This resulted in him taking evasive action via a crash dive.
This is the only instance that I have heard of concerning this form of convoy defence.
Is it true?
Are there other such anecdotes?
