<HTML>Hi Craig, SK, and all!!
Craig, your point about the Battle of the Atlantic made me think of a couple of things in terms of outcome and strategy. I believed I have discussed this before. I really do think that the strategy employed by the Kriegsmarine for its large navy vessels (cruisers, destroyers, etc.) was poor. Yes, what a great idea to have a lone raider in the Atlantic causing great enemy losses (I\'m talking about the Bismarck). But it was bound to be gained-up upon! Although the finding of the Bismarck was lucky and difficult, it was going to happen anyway. I firmly believe that if the Bismarck had air cover (perhaps from a small aircraft carrier) with the inclusion of a small fleet of destroyers and one additional heavy cruiser together with 5-10 u-boats, they would have been much more succesful. This would have been the true wolfpack strategy with the inclusion of a mother and father! This is how battles were fought in the early days, fleet against fleet. Now the English fleet may have been large</HTML>
