CONSOL was the name the British gave to the system. Originally it was called "Sonne" - sun - by the Germans.
The complte cycle of the signal was a total of 60 dots and dashes, but you never heard them all. Some were lost in the equisignal. For instance: you counted 30 dots, then came the equisignal, folowede bij 26 dashes. A total of 56, meaning you missed 4, half of which were dots, so you were on a 32 dots line'.

Stavanger was working on 319 Khz, call sign LEC, Lugo, Spain on 303 Khz, and Ploneis, France on 257 Khz, call sign TRQ.
You would need at least 2 lines from 2 different stations to give you some kind of a position.</HTML>
