<HTML>Hi All

The two railing are to stop the build-up of static electricity from
the forward & rear conning tower's radio antanna wires which ran
down to each end of the U-boat. This was done only done when
needed. The picture does show a crew member 'de-earthing' the
wires from the conning tower of the boat.
