Evening ladies and gentlemen

I was just going through my German Uboat Commanders of WW2 book by Busch & Roll
and found out something that I didn't know befre regarding Hugo Forster the CO of U501, now evryone knows of how he jumped from his sinking ship onto the deck of the escort without getting his feet wet and also leaving all his men onboard the uboat who shall we say were not happy with him at all and later on in the POW camp Kretschmer was planning a court of honor for him similair to what they did with Rahmlow of U570 but when the brits found out they moved him to another camp, but when I read further it seems that he was repatriated in exchange in Jan-45 but committed suicide on the 27/2/45. Has anybody got any explanation of this event was it because of his command of U501 and his actions when it was sunk anybody got any info I would be interested to find out ?

Cheers
Andrew
