Hello Andrew,

My Grandfather Alfred Moritz was also on the captured UBoat 501 and he, as Forster, was repatriated. From what I know, from my Grandfather and family, most of the crew that returned to Germany were taken aback from what they saw. Those who stayed in Germany had a tough go. It would seem as Hugo did not fair well in his attempt to assimilate. I, as you, would like to find about any survivors alive and meet up with them to learn more.
