During the War we had many POW Camps in North and West Yorkshire, the men were employed on many farms in the area and some settled here after the war. Do you know the Camp Number or Location where your Grandfather was held? Over the past few years I have signed affidavits for many of the former German prisoners in order that they can continue to draw their German State Pensions, the reason being I am a Councillor and former Mayor in the North Riding. I will talk to the ones that I see locally and try to find out if anyone can help .
