<HTML>Hi Erik E
Many thanks for that. Unfortunately the one the Admiralty reports as sunk off the Tyne, we have looked at this and it is a steamship that lies in that position. Probably the 1,596-ton Swedish SJOVIK, sank in 18 October 1916, although at first I thought she was the FIRELIGHT, which is close by. The wreck has a full cargo of hard wood still in its holds and in good condition. The book you refer to is by Peter Colins and many of his wreck positions are actually ten miles inland!!!!. Thank you very much though, I'm grateful for your help. Back to the drawing board.
Incidently, UC 49 was lost in Start Bay at N50 20 E03 03 and sunk by HMS OPOSSUM, so you'll see what I mean.
Cheers Ron</HTML>
