I don't know what shipwreck you mean; there are three shipwrecks on Moorea reef.
But, I know, two of them are trawlers wrecked about 1950 and 1965 and the old one, a cargo ship wreck in 1949. But it's after a nautical navigation error.
When Captain Cook and Bougainville sailor drawed the charts of this part of pacific ocean, there was not GPS for positionned islands. So, there is a gap beetwen the real position and the chart position of different atolls. About 1.5 nautical milles. So, from time to time, ships have bad surprise. Several grounds a year.( And Polynesion men like jocks very much)
