<HTML>Hello Joe,
Thanks for that. I would have missed it!
I`ve seen it about 5 times, i`ll watch it again!
Channel Ten. 8.30pm.
In my tv guide, the film critic gave it 4/4- Don`t miss.----
Wolfgang Petersen`s Das Boot is arguably the best World War 2 movie
to portray the conflict from the "other side".
The factual account of life aboard a German U-Boat in 1941 is brilliantly
adapted from Lothar- Gunther Bucheim`s novel about the submarine`s
fateful mission in the Atlantic. After watching the characters for a while
you forget that they are the "enemy".
The crew has the same aspirations as their Allied opponents-- to survive
and return to their families. They also have the same fear of ending up
entombed in their vessel on the bottom of the sea.
When their sub is battered and damaged by depth charges in one
tense encounter, those fears look like being realised.
This is not to be missed.

Regards, Vin.</HTML>
