<HTML>Hi group -

Apologies. The question turned out to be answered on the next page ; \"in the bow-room, the bulk of the reserve torpedoes were laid under the floor planking (Bodenplatten), torpedoes 11 and 12 over that, and finally a wooden floor (eine Holzdecke), the `Tenne/ threshing floor` already mentioned.\" So presumably as the torpedoes were used the floor level went down. At least `die Tenne` must have saved the crew from sitting/lying directly on the torpedoes - (uncomfortable, to say the least) - and provided a flat base for anchoring a Christmas tree !

Best wishes

Frank
