Re: U-505 Anchor Chain Links

Hey All!
I have both a full link and a piece of the pressure hull from the U-505. As a Former submariner and engineer, I was curious about the strength of the hull steel. So I had a micro-hardness test done by an acredited laboratory in Cleveland. Me, thinking of Krupp armor type super strong steel. Come to find out it is merely equivalent to mils US Steel.
I've not done anything to the link other than look at it in it's formed holder.

I've not seen them advertised nor do I have any idea what they're worth
