Herbert Schlipper was my grandfather and sadly passed away in June 2009. Did you know he helped in publishing the book "Silent Hunters" ? I would actually be interested very much in reading the book of your father!
My grandfather was very impressed by the fassion of the rescue and had great respect for the American NAVY.
