Schauenburg U-536
Date: January 22, 2003 06:29PM

<HTML>Anybody know anything about Rolf Schauenburg, U-536. He was the commander during Operation Kiebitz, the ill fated attempt to pick up Wolfgang Heyeda in the Baie de Chaleurs in 1943. Hadley writes that Schauenburg had trained in the "ship of the line" SCHLESEIN, was this a sailing ship? Hadley also says that Sch. was in the UK for the coronation of George VI and had "touched Canada." Does anyone know when/where? Halifax seems likely, but was it the place?

Thanks,
Nathan</HTML>
