Ash Cans??

<HTML>Hi everyone,

I just read some u-boat related material and noticed that depth charges were commonly referred to as \"Ash Cans\" by the Americans. I can see how that relates to either the explosion of the charges or the fact that they spelled certain death for whatever was close underwater. My question is: are there other slang words for depthcharges? by other Navy\'s? I know in German they called them (as translated) \"water bombs\" or \"wasser bommen\".

Thanks in advance,
