U-358 Alfons Eckert sole survivor

<HTML>Alfons Eckert was my Grandfather and sadly died recently (15-7-2003) We always knew he was the sole survivor of a U-boat but he was reluctant to discuss the war at any length. We have just found out that he recieved the Iron Cross 2nd class, but thats all we know. Can anyone help with more information about him? U358? or his Iron Cross? I am contacting the archive but wondered if there was anything else anyone knew. Thanks Ross.</HTML>
