<HTML>Thanks for posting this.
Most of the crew photos we have come from snapshots taken by U-166's commander, Hans-Günther Kuhlmann. He was an avid amateur photographer, and after his death his widow, Gertrude, put them away. They were not rediscovered until 2001, when the discovery of the boat prompted a German television crew to locate her. The images were taken aboard both U-166 and aboard Kuhlmann's previous boat, U-580. When the latter boat was sunk in a collision in late 1941, most of her crew was transferred en masse to U-166. We have a good many pictures that are not yet on the web, mainly of Hans-Günther and Gertrude Kuhlmann, and Hans and Ursula Traun.
As you say, Robert, we would like any and every assistance possible in obtaining images (or other information) of any of U-166's crew. We don't want them to be simply names on a page.
