I believe reading a story about a test in 1947,onboard the USS Cusk(SS.348) which was fitted with a tubular hangar with a launching ramp for missile test flights.
This was a copy of the VI 'buzz bomb" was the first naval missile lauched from a submarine based on German rocket developments made during the last days of Third Reich.
The Americans,British & Soviet sub experts used this infomation to great lenghts after the war to gain naval ballistic missile power later on in their own nuclear subs.
