Hi Darius,
acording to Roland Berr (ubootwaffe.net), Svinta was actually torpedoed by U-22 and finished by coup de grace. Since Roland has the KTBs, I would surmise he is the most reliable source on this particular matter.
Maybe you can visit their forum or write him directly,
