<HTML>HI All,

The uboat.net history for U-608 is obviously incorrect. It lists it being sunk Aug 10, 1944 and says “The boat was lost in this attack” Jan 31, 1944. It is not likely it was sunk twice. The Aug 9/10 date is probably correct, however, it is still possible for U-608 to have shot down a British Wellington on Jan 31, 1944 (success against aircraft).

We know what the KTB says for 13.10.1943, what does it say for 31.1.1944? Also note that the time used by U-boats is often not the time used by other sources when describing an incident. Depending on how close to midnight the incident occurred, the times can be different by a day.

Regards,

Ken Dunn
