<HTML>Hi All,
I agree a lot with John R except that for the Imperial Naval flag to have been used the ring, were it an issue ring, would have had to been before 1918.
Did the Imperial German Forces have \"class rings\" as the Americans do ?
If so we can look for the German naval officers, on all types of ship who served in both wars.
What is to say that he was a U-boat man in WW1 ?
Any idea of the age of the dead man concerned he must have been at least mid 40\'s then. (Konteradmiral Godt was born in 1900 and was Crew 18)
It is not difficult to make \"fake\" originials or replicas these days especially in countries with low labour costs but whose locals have the expetise to make them.
Personally I am very suspicious but it might me an interesting thing to have if its only a few pounds/dollars/marks
Like to know more
Regards
