It will be a lot more difficult - just to clear the numbers to readability from marine growth. Do you intend to send a diver down? If so, might be easier to get propeller numbers. Chances for those records are better, since they likely were put on at the building yards and not added/exchanged like various flak guns in France. (Just realized - you mentioned soft bottom - thus props likely buried - too bad)
The stated length (by sonar) indicates a type 7, pics should confirm that eliminating other possibilities - also flak/gun arrangement incl. towertype. Rgds, RB</HTML>
