Dear Paul and Fred...
Yes I was referring to the incident at BrantRock..1944
Fred can you shed and light on the story that Ive heard regarding the Oleary incident?
What I heard was Bill Oleary, a Jr Civil defense watch on the Brantrock tower actually saw what appeared to be an Italian sub off the beach approx 1000 yds. He spotted the conning tower and the markings on the side.. these markings included what appears to be a large dagger slicing through what seems to be a Baguette... He then contacted Tom Curtis and the police.. who hurried down the beach to verify what he had seen.. Bill even to this day does not like talking about the incident he claims that "it like watching television, whenever theres a food commercial I tend to become hungry" thus there is always a baguette around the house.
