Thank you very much for that post. Well-detailed information there. I wonder if the one survivor survived the war too. I would really like to hear his side of the story. From having read the stuff about Captain Gallery, it seems he was a bit of an instigator of issues :-) Interesting fellow.
Henke, did what every commander did under normal war routines. One question though, why 5 torpedoes?? The ship was crumbled enough. If his range was close (which I assume it must have been), Henke would have either seen or known about the passengers scrambling to get off. But then again, the rough sees would have made that difficult.
