Dear Katie,
re Empire Broadsword,
My father William (Billy)Roche was a Royal Marine and was on Board this ship when it was hit by a mine.
He was always amazed that he survived as he was a non swimmer (despite Living just 1 mile from our beach here in Port Talbot ,South Wales) He often wondered who saved him.
After reading your message I think the mystery has been solved. Sadly Dad died in 2003, and prior to this, info regarding the Empire Broadsword was so scarce (and our computer skills then so negligible) that we were unable to access any info regarding his ship and his many friends on board.
I realize that there would now be just a few servicemen alive who were on this ship but I wonder if you have any ideas as to where I can access more information
Best Wishes Ann Lind
