My grandather was one of 1st Suffolks originally landed from this vessel on sword beach on June 6th.Sadly he was killed in action on the 28th June about 6 miles inland.
I have just noticed this thread with interest as i am still in touch with a number of my grandfathers old comrades. Sadly fewer evert year.

i have a book "D-Day Wrecks on Normandy" by Mark James which would suggest a simultaneous strike of 2 mines( no 4 and no 5 holds). There is then a good description of the damage and state of the wreck. hope this helps.
